New sense of colour

New sense of colour

by Tiny de Vries
3 ideas for a new sense of colour.  The spring season is always full of energy and life. The fresh colours in nature and the warmer weather put us in such a good mood. It's also the perfect time to introduce new accents inside your home to add freshness and joy. And thanks to the art prints in my online shop, www.tinystories.nl, no job could be easier. Add a touch of spring colourfulness to your interior. I have three suggestions for using exciting colour combinations to bring spring accents into your home. If you want to give your place a buzz of freshness, you can find the perfect art prints, collages and wall hangings in my online shop.  GLOSSY PINK VISTAS   Let's open up the treasure chest of colour! Create true shimmering splendour with gold and silver tones in your interior. The unique metallic look produces an unusual and elegant living atmosphere. Combined with powdery colours like dusty pink, soft beige and light shades of grey, the brilliant metal colours will show off their delicate side.     In the LUMIÈRE DORÉE art print (€179.95), the expressive female portrait motif shines out from her golden background, adding a touch of glamour to the wall.   Pink and silver form a successful colour team, revealing their shiny side in the MOUNTAINS AT DAWN art print (€54.95). Because of its cool undertone, Silver combines particularly well with bright colours to ensure a spring-fresh look. FLOATING ON A PURPLE CLOUD  From their earliest use, purple tones have exuded a friendly, airy welcome – the most delicate temptation. This colour fills a room with peace, lightness and the joy of life. And it always creates exciting contrasts when used in combination with red and beige shades.  In the abstract landscape DE PAYSAGE (€42.45), the light lavender purple blossoms into renewed artistic splendour, combining excellently with fresh spring colours such as yellow, pink and light blue.   REFRESHINGLY DELICIOUS: SAGE AND MINT  Soft green nuances help us relax. They reveal a modern aspect and provide a carefree atmosphere. Not only do mint and sage ensure a delicious freshness in our cold drinks – they also spread their good mood onto our walls and furnishings.  In the art print PARADIS VERT (from €54.95), the colour-combination first prize goes to green and white. Together, these two colours bring joy into our apartments with their light accents, ensuring relaxation for body and mind. The added company of rich white and soft cream tones make the delicate green glow even stronger and appear fresher.     You can find more decor inspiration in my online shop, on Instagram or on Pinterest. Hello Easter!

Hello Easter!

Decor ideas for a colourful Easter celebration. Spring is in the air, and our anticipation of Easter is rising. The colourful family celebration is almost upon us. Now is the perfect time for families to start their creative projects, enjoy the fragrance of spring flowers, snack on chocolate Easter eggs and decide on little gifts for visiting family and friends.   In this post, I’ll reveal two decor and gift ideas that will bring joy to everyone this Easter. Start your Easter browsing in my online shop, www.tinystories.nl and discover paintings, collages and wall hangings for your artistic Easter nest. ART CARDS AS EASTER GIFTS FOR YOUR GUESTS  It’s an EGG-cellent time to start crafting! In the run-up to Easter, young and old love crafting together – drawing, decorating and cutting out bunnies, eggs and other spring decorations. So, why not choose a more creative way to present gifts to your guests this Easter? Make your loved ones happy – surprise them with an A4 art card. How about pegging a few cards to a ribbon and creating a garland above your Easter table? Or you could combine beautiful art cards like CORAL (€16.95) or FLEUR POURPRES (€8.95) with your decorated eggs to garnish each plate on your Easter table.  And voila!  You've found your artistic Easter gifts that double up as decor. EVER-POPULAR GOOD-MOOD YELLOW    The radiant joy of daffodils! Because they're usually in full bloom during Easter, these charming spring flowers are also known as Easter bells. They love a little stage in your home to radiate their joyful colour. Why not place a beautiful vase of daffodils on a small table, surrounded by yellow décor elements like candles or painted Easter eggs? This spring yellow has hardly any colour-equal when it comes to providing joie de vivre, holiness and joy. The art print, LEMONS (€64.95, 30 x 40 cm), with its radiant lemon yellow, brings a pleasant spring freshness into any room. Give your daffodil ensemble another yellow companion on the wall with the art print FOLLOW THE SUN (€42.45, A4), a female silhouette in muted ochre. These 3 ideas will bring a forest atmosphere into your home.  There’s something magical about a forest. A long walk through the lush, deep green, with trees, plants and soft birdsong all around you, brings about peace and relaxation. On 21 March, we celebrate the International Day of Forest. Can you think of any better reason to find inspiration in nature and bring the wonderful forest effect into your apartment?  In the following article, I’ve compiled my favourite inspirations and ideas to help you transform your home into a green meadow. FOREST INSPIRATION 1: GREEN REPOSE When the spring morning sun illuminates the first tree buds, and the delicate green of new leaves starts showing, our desire for nature awakens and calls us outdoors. Soft tones start flooding the landscape, revealing its charm. Similarly, the art print PALMIER VERT (€54.95), which is available in the size 30 x 40 cm, can turn things fabulously green. The light palm leaf on a darker shade of green invites one to relax in a botanical atmosphere—an ideal decor element for a small living area with a comfortable armchair or chill-out corner. FOREST INSPIRATION 2: TRANQUILLITY IN THE TREES  The wall-hanging WHISPERS FROM THE WOODS (€179.95) pays homage to the forest and offers a cosy silence. When looking at the textile artwork in clay and lime colours, the viewer will experience a feeling of inner contemplation and deep, calm breathing. The motif of the tree, printed on a sturdy cotton canvas, is reminiscent of the power of nature. The dimensions of this wall hanging are 80 x 100 cm and hanging clips can be supplied on request. FOREST INSPIRATION 3: PURE BACKDROP OF NATURE  Would you like to bring indigenous nature into your home? You can achieve this atmosphere with small finds such as decorative stones, grasses or warped twigs from your last forest walk. Glasses or ceramic bowls make beautiful containers for these natural treasures. The abstract art print EMERALD GREEN (from €52.45) can form the colour-perfect counterpart to natural earthy colours and wood elements in your interior, reflecting the vibrant glow of meadows and forests with the bright green tones of the layered vintage papers – a feel-good backdrop of nature inside your home.     You can find more decor inspiration in my online shop, on Instagram or on Pinterest. A toast to women!

A toast to women!

Gift ideas for International Women’s Day on 8 March. 8 March is International Women’s Day, and we want to show all the extraordinary heroines who enrich our lives how much we value them. Whether it’s your mother, your sister or aunt, your daughter, your best friend, your dearest colleague or you yourself — every woman is unique, and together we are strong! Do you still need ideas for an artistic gift for that power woman in your life who makes you proud? The following post may contain the perfect surprise. Let’s celebrate women! DELICATE STRENGTH A shoulder to lean on, conversations that fill you with courage, or a role model who has your back — if there’s a superheroine in your life whose strength and empathy you admire, then you can show her your love. The wall hanging L’AMOUR (€319.95) celebrates femininity and strength, merging the two qualities into an expressive whole. This wall enhancement is available in a limited edition of 300 prints and convinces with its sensual motif of a female portrait printed on 100% eco-cotton. SHARE THE JOY  Even though the paths of some friends might part from yours over time, they will always have a special place in your heart, despite their distance. By sending your far-off friend a floral greeting, you can enjoy a joyful friendship moment with each other. The A5 mini art print WILD FLOWERS (€8.95) in warm earthy tones is a beautiful quality reproduction. The original was painted with natural Balearic Island pigments on vintage paper. A LIFE OF SELF-LOVE Don’t forget to thank yourself and believe in your own strength. You, too, are a power woman in someone’s life, and you should be celebrated. The art print, INNER TRUST (€54.95), combines delicate feminine contours with intense terracotta tones to create a sensual connection and hints at a confidence in your own strength. There’s something peaceful in the ceramic tone, which creates a sense of security and feel-good moments in your home. In this dreamy silhouette, femininity and inner contemplation merge into an expressive moment of self-determination. You can find more decor inspiration in my online shop, on Instagram or Pinterest. 3 living trends for 2023

3 living trends for 2023

by Tiny de Vries
Hot furnishing trends for the new year!  In 2023 things are getting colourful and individual. 2022 was all about calm colours, cosy furniture and subtleness, but 2023 brings oodles of individualism and self-realisation. Now we can play around with forms, materials, colours and styles.   For my latest blog post, I have delved deeply into the 2023 decor trends, and I can assure you that you won't be able to escape the following three interior trends.   TREND 1:  LOUD COLOURS  The 2023 trend colours (to the blogpost) have revealed some of this, with even furniture and decor accessories showing their colourful, expressive side this year.  White and neutral tones, which have made way for louder colours, are increasingly used as feel-good focal points in the living area. And striking wall pictures, playful carpets and colourful living accessories provide an instant dopamine kick to your four walls.   Matching art prints  BAY VIEW, A4 art print, from €42.45 KOREAN HANDBOK, art print in 30 X 40 cm from €54.95 TREND 2: WELCOME TO UNIQUE AND VINTAGE PIECES  Goodbye to off-the-shelf designs and mass-produced products! This year, the trend is to personalise and express your individuality. Individual pieces and pre-owned objects and furniture are finding their way into our living spaces, and we can combine them at will with the new. Flea market finds are very popular and combine excellently with your existing furniture.    Matching art prints  FOLLOW RIVERS art print, available in the sizes 30 x 40 cm, 40 x 50 cm und 50 x 70 cm, from €54.95 SAND AND CORAL, art print in 30 x 40 cm, from €54.95 TREND 3: GREENTERIOR  In keeping with our passion for sustainability and environmental consciousness, this trend represents more nature in our interiors. However, the idea is not to decorate your four walls with indoor plants. This year, warm, earthy and coffee tones, natural materials like rattan and seaweed and botanical motives are taking over, especially in the kitchen and dining room. Add a few attractive pottery pieces, and your look will be perfect.   Matching art prints  VERTE, art print in 30 x 40 cm, from €54.95 STILL LIFE, art print in 30 x 40 cm, from €54.95 You can find more decor inspiration in my online shop, on Instagram or on Pinterest.    Love,  Tiny
2023 Interior colour trends

2023 Interior colour trends

by Tiny de Vries
Dare something new; dare with colour. My plans for 2023? Having the courage to dare something new, to dare with colour. Let's make a colourful start to this new year by diving into the four main interior colour trends of 2023 – "Lavender Cream", "Red Latex", "Brown Sand", and "Green Deep Lake". In this post, I delve more deeply into these fresh new colour worlds and their effects and present some matching artworks from my online shop www.tinystories.nl. Have fun while you discover your favourite colour for the new year! TREND COLOUR 1: LAVENDER CREAM The soft lilac tone, “Lavender Cream”, is diverse and facilitates diverse moods, radiating peace and cheerfulness. While a deep violet seems extravagant and original, the light "Lavender Cream" is much softer and more relaxing. When you combine it with beige and rust nuances, you can create exciting contrasts. I especially love the friendly aspect of this colour tone. It fills me with peace and relaxation, like a short holiday break from that everyday stress. MATCHING PICTURES LILAC A5 Art card (€ 8.95) CORAL & CHOCOLATE art print (30 x 40 cm and 50 x 70 cm, from €54.95) TREND COLOUR 2: RED LATEX The expressive colour "Red Latex" creates a euphoric mood in interior spaces and can set an extravagant scene for individual furniture pieces and accessories like art prints or vases.  With its WOW effect, this trend colour is very provoking, with a hint of seduction. Optimistic red tones radiate energy and reveal an eagerness to gather new experiences. This colour lends itself to experimentation and unfolds warmth and comfort in these cold winter months. I recommend using lighter natural tones and white to balance the intense red. MATCHING PICTURE DANS LE JARDIN JAPONAIS wall hanging (€299.95), woven 100% organic cotton.   TREND COLOUR 3: BROWN SAND Warm earthy tones, such as Sand, Clay, Ochre and Terracotta, are calming and satisfy that yearning to live close to nature. This trend colour creates a space that grounds us and offers security.  A mixture of a caramel-like brown-orange and a light nude tone, "Brown Sand" exudes the lightness of a Mediterranean summer vacation. Calm colours combine exceptionally well with other nuances and create room for unique interior styling ideas with vintage finds like baskets and ceramics. MATCHING PICTURE AAMER art print (A4 and 30 X 40 cm, from €54.95)   TREND COLOUR 4: GREEN DEEP LAKE The interior space experiences a bold yet sentimental note. This dark blue-green allows us to dive into the colour depths of a lake and seems nostalgic, emotional and secretive. Ensconced between sea blue and leaf green, this trend colour was derived from nature and creates a calming atmosphere in any room. A green tone in an interior space always draws in a part of nature, connecting the indoors to the living outdoors.  Because we’re dealing with a dark shade, the colour "Green Deep Lake" should be used with care, as applying it to a large surface area could make the room seem smaller.   MATCHING PICTURES ÉMERAUDE wall hanging (€179.95) EMERALD GREEN limited art print (A4 and 30 X 40 cm, from €52.45) You can find more decor inspiration in my online shop, on Instagram @tinystories.nl, or on Pinterest @tinystoriesartshop. Golden Season

Golden Season

Styling tip: Autumn ambience in just 3 steps Autumn has been clothing our trees in their coats of many colours, and these natural tones have moved indoors as well. The interplay between different red tones, muted and subtle shades of brown and various yellow nuances can sustain this autumn feeling. Light grey and pastel tones make the look less severe, adding a lightness to the harmonious autumn picture. In the following article, I’ve put together three styling tips for a cosy autumn ambience:  Tip 1: A brief history of cosiness Cushions, cushions, and more cushions. Besides using matching shades, patterns and various fabrics, you can also create a cosy and autumnal ambience by playing around with the number of cushions and creating a decorative, cuddly island. Because a cushion doesn't like to be left all alone… Tip 2: A lasting love of flowers Individual dried flowers and branches or artfully arranged bouquets which can be effectively staged in combination with artwork can bring long-lasting joy. Tip 3: A feeling of harmony Create warmth and comfort on your walls. You can achieve this by creating an interplay between different colours or through a picture gallery where you arrange several pictures and frames on the wall or the floor. You can find more inspiration for autumn in my online shop on Instagram or Pinterest. Love,
Eternal summer

Eternal summer

Three artistic home ideas to make summer last a little longer We are currently enjoying the last weeks of summer. So it's about time to extend the most beautiful season of the year at home and create our own breezy paradise with a few tips and tricks. In the following article, I will introduce you to three home ideas that will give your home a makeover that brings soft elegance and preserves the summer feelings. You can find the matching paintings, collages and wall hangings for the eternal summer in my online shop www.tinystories.nl. HOME TIP 1 – CONJURE UP SUMMER LIGHTNESS  Fancy some candy floss and soft serve ice cream? We love that lightness of being in summer. So, let’s exchange the heavy wool blankets and cuddly cushions for brightly coloured and airy textiles such as linen, silk or viscose. Transparent fabrics conjure up a summery atmosphere in no time. Combined with pastel colours or with ethnic-patterned or trendy fringed cushions, these textiles ensure a good mood and cheerful look. We can also embellish our walls with breezy pastel hues, which in the landscape art print CORAL & CHOCOLATE (€49.95) meet with strong earth tones, forming a harmonious connection. This high-quality reproduction is available in 30 x 40 cm and 50 x 70 cm sizes. HOME TIP 2 – A TRIP TO THE COUNTRYSIDE  Inspired by summer nature, we enjoy the effect of lively greenery inside our four walls. Pastel green is a perfect choice if you want more lightness, and your room needs a colourful dollop of freshness. Using pastel yellow and gold details such as candlesticks or bowls can create exciting contrasts. However, a light green shade also comes into its own when combined with rust red. In interior design, shades of pastel green and natural materials such as wood and stone form a harmonious combination, which is both modern and relaxing.  Things turn fabulously green with the 30 X 40 cm art print PALMIER (€49.95), a botanical highlight in the home gallery. HOME TIP 3 – A SEA OF FLOWERS  You can add some summer flair to your apartment by using typical blossom colours and textiles or artworks with a variety of different flowers, such as the floral and expressive quality reproduction FLOATING FLOWERS (in A4, from €39.95). All artworks can also be bought framed with high-quality wooden frames. You can find more inspiration in my online shop or on Instagram. Love,

Happy home with blue artworks Let's welcome the mood-enhancing colour blue! Intense blue tones are taking over our walls this summer to create a happy home and feel-good atmosphere. The calming and clear colour positively affects both body and mind, even in its more intense nuances. It can elevate your mood and help you concentrate and focus. Blue decorative elements can work wonders, especially in the areas surrounding your desk.  Below, I have compiled my three favourite blue art prints: Floral joy The art print INDIGO FLOWERS (from €59.95 and limited to 300 copies) is available in the size 30 x 40 cm. Tightly packed floral silhouettes are kept in a deep blue tone and provide a naturally beautiful interior.  Glancing into the depths The art print INTO THE BLUE (from €59.95) promises to relax your eyes. Radiant lemons The bright yellow art print CITRONS à L‘INDIGO (from €39.95) speaks of warm summer evenings and southern countries. Embrace your wanderlust and enjoy the exotic charisma of this work, painted in Morocco. This quality reproduction is available in an A4 size – framed or unframed. Distant yearning

Distant yearning

by Tiny de Vries
Wanderlust and enjoyment of art There are many destinations for those with wanderlust or a desire to travel. Set off into the wide world by starting right here in your home. Allow my exotic artworks with their vibrant colours to lead the way. During my travels, I always collect new sources of inspiration and unique materials. I then combine both in my artworks and invite you to immerse yourself in these distant locations of yearning at www.tinystories.nl.  In the article below, you can find my highlight art works:  Oriental Dreams This monoprint, inspired by the intoxicating city of Marrakesh (€49.95), is available in a 30 x 40 cm size. Known as the “red city” because of the colour of its walls, Marrakesh reveals its  colourful cloak of dark red tones at sunset, as I express in this work.  Coastal love In this abstract, two-dimensional print with soft grey and beige tones, I center my love for the coast and the Frisian islands where I spent my childhood holidays. The 30 x 40 cm art print Coast (€49. 95) is available in a limited edition of a total of 300 pieces. Flowers from Korea The sensual and simultaneously powerful portrait of a woman captivates the viewer's gaze. On my trip through Korea, I acquired special handmade brushes that inspired me to create the motif Korean Flowers (from €39.95). This quality reproduction of the original on vintage paper is available in the sizes 30 x 40 cm, 40 x 50 cm and 50 x 70 cm. Behind The Scenes: Bali Travel Impressions "Memories of Bali...I walk home through rice paddies, emerald paddy fields.Whispering blades of grassswaying in the gentle breeze. Let's go wandering againdrawn by the innocenceof these deep green rice paddies."Tiny de Vries    The idea for this painting came about during a hike through the emerald green rice fields of Bali. We inhale deeply, our mind comes to rest, while our eyes become immersed in the vibrant blue and green tones of the landscape impression Bali (€49.95) and are allowed to recover from the outside world. The art print is available in a 30 x 40 cm size in my online shop www.tinystories.nl.  I share travel inspirations, personal snapshots and special finds from the world of art and interiors on Instagram @tinystories.nl or on my Pinterest channel @tinystoriesartshop.
The light joy of living

The light joy of living

by Tiny de Vries
The fundamentals of a perfect hygge living experience I experience my home as a small idyllic island of relaxation in the whirling everyday hustle and bustle. A space that calms me down and allows me to enjoy my own company. But, at the same time, it's where I get my strength and where I spend hours socializing with my loved ones. Do you also enjoy creating your own hygge style, celebrating the cosy Scandinavian joy of living with warm, natural colours? Then you might like my three inspirational ideas for a perfect hygge living experience. LIVING IDEA 1 – Pure comfort with warm colours Endless freedom and new beginnings – soar into the sky and feel as free as a bird with the art print "The Sky Is Wide Open" (from €49,95). The warm colour-play in earthy and natural tones and swarming bird silhouettes creates a cosy feel-good atmosphere, inviting the viewer to dream. The art print is available in 30 x 40 cm and 50 x 70 cm. Click here for the art print.     LIVING IDEA 2 – Natural materials We allow natural tones to flow into our homes and focus more on cosiness and calm in our choice of furniture. Clear lines, simple shapes and light wood combine with subtle, basic colours such as white, beige and grey. The harmony of these elements purposefully unfolds their effect, ensuring a friendly, spacious feeling. I allowed my love for the coast and the Frisian islands where I spent my childhood holidays to flow into the abstract, flat art print "COAST" (30 x 40 cm, €49.95). We inhale deeply and let the harmony of natural materials and light beige and cream tones work their magic on us. Click here for the art print.     LIVING IDEA 3 – Time for friends and family Social evenings also form part of a happy home. Inviting friends and family over, cooking together, enjoying the good things in life together or discussing worries and feeling supported and understood. Our enjoyable gatherings are underlined by small comfort accents and a pleasant room atmosphere that invites all to linger and relax. The wall hanging "Blue Eyes" (80 x 100 cm, €159,95) celebrates femininity and strength and allows the two qualities to merge into an expressive whole. The sensual motif of a female portrait is kept in natural and soft colours that immerse the room in an intimate and cosy atmosphere. Click here for the wall hanging.   Let's allow the Scandinavian cosiness to move in with us. I wish you plenty of joy. Transforming your apartment into a home

Transforming your apartment into a home

3 beautiful home trends for 2022 For me, a new year always holds new expectations, hopes and changes. What is constant, what has remained and what's coming? This is the ideal time for us to start redesigning our interiors. After all, we spend time in our living spaces, because they're the source of our strength and security. In this article, I'll introduce you to my three trends for 2022, my recommendations to inspire you and bring more joy into your home. HOME TREND 1 – Creating a powerful harmony This is a year we reflect more on ourselves and the sources of our inner strength. The wall hanging "L'AMOUR" (151 x 201 cm, €299,95) celebrates femininity and strength and allows the two characteristics to merge into an expressive whole. The colour code is muted and balanced. The sensual motif of a female portrait is in soft, natural colours will imbue your room with an intimate atmosphere. Breathe deeply and allow the harmony of the natural materials and light beige and cream tones, natural hues ranging from violet to brown, to affect you. Click here to view the tapestry. HOME TREND 2 – The kitchen: heart of the apartment Whether we usually eat, play or just hang out in it, the kitchen is often the meeting point in our homes. Being at the heart of the action, it deserves our special attention and yearns for an extra portion of interior happiness. The art print "BEETROOT" (A4, €39,96) has darker red and brown tones on light Vergé paper. Its motif of a flower bed with painted roots seems to ground the viewer and hold their gaze. The art print evokes the tranquillity of nature and harbours a sense of vitality. Click here for the art print. HOME TREND 3 – The home office is here to stay and it's becoming more beautiful In 2022 many of us will still spend part of our working hours within our own four walls. A separate study might not always be available, in which case we need to accommodate the desk in another room. Designing a functional and visually appealing workspace promotes productivity and helps separate the area and create a better work-life balance. The abstract art print “LA BALANCÉ” (30 x 40 cm, €49,95) stimulates concentration with its unpretentious layers of vintage paper. Click here for the art print. The character of an apartment should reflect the personality of the resident. Create your feel-good home in 2022. You can find more design inspiration in my online shop or on Instagram.Love,
